Four Queens Minitrip Food Appendix (by Jim Geary)
Snackbar Hotdog |       | -4 |
Not very beefy tasting. Strongest flavor was boiled
hotdog water. Paper boat too small for bun. Mustard packet didn't tear
open easily. Chips were crumbly and sparse.
Subway Club |       | -2 |
Just like any other subway club, but they were only allowed
to give me half a slice of provolone. Probably too busy fighting for an
honest day's pay to go to bat for the customer. Ice jammed in the soda
machine egress made it difficult for me to take appropriate edge off of
rootbeer.
Snackbar Beef Stew |       | +1 |
Not too salty and a good broth. Meat comprised an
over large percentage of composition which can be annoying, especially
given that it could've been more tender. No bread to soak stew. Was
proffered hotdog bun. Declined.
California Pizza Kitchen |       | +1 |
To satisfaction. (at the GN, not 4Qs
admittedly).
General Soda Pop |       | +5 |
Whole cans of soda with commemorative (well 1999 Bud
Bowl commemorative) cups of ice trump usual anemic soda service.
Zinger |       | +2 |
The tournament organizer was actually walking around the room
passing these out like cartons of milk at a Head Start school. I got the
chocolate with vanilla filling which was quite good. Chocolate was rich
without being oversweet and the caky part maintained good structural
integrity when bitten into. Cream filling was in appropriate proportion.
